Blue tits are the regulars at our winter bird feeder, so I wanted to give this one its own pegboard tribute! Its bright blue cap, white cheek and yellow belly are what give it away at a glance, so I’ve kept each of those in solid, clean blocks so the bird reads instantly. The beak and the black eye only need two or three beads each — no need for pinpoint precision, just keep them close together. The little brown branch along the bottom anchors the bird so it doesn’t look like it’s floating in mid-air. When ironing, go gently over the beak area, since it’s the thinnest and most fragile part of the whole grid. This little tit makes a lovely hanging mobile by a window, or a surprising handmade card glued onto some sturdy paper.
