Here’s a real classic that I remake every year, and it’s still one of my favourite patterns because it’s just so effective! The main star plays with two shades of golden yellow to suggest some depth, with a white glint running down from one of its points like a beam of light. Around it, three tiny four-pointed stars, just five beads each, fill up the sky without making the grid any trickier. It’s a great one to hand to beginners: the wide points go quickly, and there are only four colours to juggle from start to finish. When ironing, spend a little extra time on the thin points, since they cool down faster than the centre. Strung up on a thread, this star makes a window decoration that sparkles all year round, not just at Christmas!
