I wanted something a little different from our usual animals and flowers, so I put together this diamond mosaic in blue, white and grey. It’s a great exercise for practising symmetry and bead counting, and the finished look genuinely reminds me of old tile work! To follow the grid, one square equals one bead: I’d suggest spotting the guide lines every 5 holes on the picture first, it really helps you stay on track through the repeating pattern. Since this one covers the whole square pegboard, take your time and plan a few breaks, especially with little ones helping out. Once finished, this graphic pattern makes a lovely coaster or trivet, and you can easily recolour it to match your own decor.
