With rainy afternoons settling in, I wanted a cosy little design to brighten up the window: this polka dot umbrella! On the chart, each square is one bead: start with the nice round dome, sprinkle in the white and pink dots as shown, then go straight down for the handle. My tip: to keep the dome perfectly even, bead both sides at the same time, checking now and then that you’re keeping pace on each side. Once it’s ironed (always with a grown-up, and baking paper on top), this little umbrella makes an adorable fridge magnet or a hanging decoration for the window — a nice reminder that rainy days can be pretty too.
