This striped hot air balloon is such a joy to bead, row after row, as you follow the coloured bands wrapping around the envelope! Start at the point right at the top, then widen out little by little toward the balloon’s round belly, before narrowing back in toward the neck. The two little black ropes connect the envelope to the brown basket down at the bottom — don’t skip that detail, it’s what turns a simple round shape into a hot air balloon ready to take flight! With its lovely red, yellow and orange stripes against a blue sky background, this pattern is just as nice to look at as it is to make. Once finished, it makes a dreamy little decoration for a kid’s room or a sweet card to give as a gift.
