Fuse Bead Treats: 15+ Deliciously Sweet Designs to Craft

At my house there’s basically one rule: the moment it rains or the kids start bouncing off the walls, out come the pegboards and the tiny beads, and the craft table turns into a bakery. Treats are hands-down my favourite fuse bead theme — they’re colourful, they’re round, they pixelate beautifully, and best of all they’re completely calorie-free! Today I’ve pulled together a sweet little line-up of more than fifteen designs, from a simple ice cream cone all the way to a plate of sushi. Fair warning: this one will make you hungry.

Good news: every one of these models is built on a grid, exactly like pixel art. One square on the grid = one bead on the board. So you can recreate each treat bead by bead, just following the colours. Ready? Aprons on.

Ice creams and popsicles (that never melt!)

Let’s start with the star of summer. Ice cream is the very first design I recommend to beginners: few beads, punchy colours, and a result that really pops. This sundae with its cherry on top is perfect as a brooch or a fridge magnet.

In the same vein, this plain cone comes together in ten minutes flat with the kids, and these colourful ice lollies are a great way to use up the odd handful of leftover beads.

And for older kids who want a proper wearable project, this ice cream visor proves you can assemble beads into something to pop on your head. Guaranteed hit at the beach.

Cupcakes and cakes: bakery in beads

You can’t talk treats without cupcakes! With their fluted base and generous swirl of frosting, they can be endlessly reinvented: just switch up the colours on top and you’ve got a whole bakery window. I love turning them into a bunting to hang above the kids’ craft corner.

Donuts, cookies and little treats

The donut is the round design par excellence. For this one I’ve drawn you a little homemade grid to follow: each square is one bead, pink glaze and sprinkles included. Set it next to your board and off you go.

In the same family, this cosy milk-and-cookie duo, this sweet box of chocolates (perfect for Mother’s Day!) and this cookies, donuts and pretzel assortment round out the snack tray.

Sweet drinks to go

A treat can be a drink too! Bubble tea, with its little tapioca pearls, is hugely popular with teens, and this customisable coffee cup (pop your name on the side, just like at the counter) makes an adorable keyring.

A basket of colourful fruit
