With that oversized yellow-and-orange beak, the toucan is one of my favorite birds to recreate in fuse beads — it’s dramatic without being tricky! The black body and white throat patch come together quickly, and the beak really does all the visual work, so take your time there: one crooked line and he loses all his charm. A single square pegboard is all you need. My tip: lay the outline of the beak first, then fill it in — it keeps you from mixing up the yellow and orange beads, which look awfully similar at a glance. Once ironed, this toucan makes a lovely magnet or a bright little hanging decoration for a kid’s room, any time of year.
