I couldn’t skip the little house — it’s one of the very first patterns my kids learned to read on their own! The red roof goes down first, a neat centered triangle, then the cream walls underneath, with two blue windows with white crossbars and a brown door right in the middle. To keep the roof triangle crisp, start placing beads from the top point and widen row by row without skipping a square. It’s a great pattern for teaching little ones to read a grid, since each part — roof, wall, window, door — is such a simple shape to spot. Once ironed, this little house looks lovely standing on a shelf or glued onto a greeting card.
