Autumn is officially here, which around my house means bags of beads spilling all over the kitchen table! It’s the perfect season to pull out the pegboards and dive into warm, cosy colours: red foxes, round little owls, maple leaves and golden sunflowers. Today I’m rounding up our loveliest patterns to print, each one with its full grid and a bead count worked out peg by peg, ready to follow row by row.

The Fox and the Owl, Our Forest Favourites

You can’t talk about autumn without the animals of the forest. Our owl fuse beads roundup already gave you plenty of ideas to brighten up the earlier evenings; here’s a couple of brand-new patterns to put them into practice.

Red Fox and Little Owl

The fox, built entirely from triangles and bold flat colours, is a great pattern to move on to once you’re past your very first grids. The owl, with its rounded shapes and small colour palette, is perfect for younger beaders just getting started.

Flowers and Leaves: The Colours of the Season

Did our autumn flowers roundup get you in the mood? Here are two more patterns to keep going, from golden petals to blazing autumn foliage.

Sunflower and Maple Leaf

The sunflower, with its radial symmetry, is such a satisfying one to bead: once you’ve done one quarter of the flower, just repeat it to finish the other three. The maple leaf builds up lengthwise, from the orange tip at the top down to the little brown stem that anchors it.

These four new patterns join the ones already in the catalogue. For a well-rounded beading session, take a look at these too:

More From the Catalogue

A simple chequered heart, a spotty mushroom for woodland fans, a cuddly little hedgehog and a soft pink flower: plenty to choose from for the whole family, from a very first project to slightly trickier grids.

Getting Started

For every one of these patterns, the grid and the colour breakdown are counted straight from the design, so you know exactly how many beads of each shade to set aside before you even start. Pick a standard square pegboard, get comfortable, and always slide a sheet of baking paper over your creation before ironing, for a smooth, neat finish every time.

A Project to Share

What I love most about these autumn patterns is how well they work for a solo afternoon or for real family time together. Older kids can take on the fox or the maple leaf, with their slightly finer sections to count, while younger ones will have fun with the owl’s rounded shapes or the sunflower’s generous symmetry. Nobody gets left out, and everyone walks away with their own little creation to admire, or to give away.

Feel free to mix and match the patterns too: a fox and an owl look lovely side by side on a shelf, like a tiny forest scene, while the sunflower and the maple leaf make a sweet pair for dressing up a window. That’s part of the fun of fuse beads: start from one simple grid and then let your own arrangement take over from there. Wishing you a lovely beading session, and keep an eye on the catalogue: new patterns land regularly to match every season.
