Disney Fuse Beads: Mickey, Stitch and the Whole Gang to Make With the Kids

Let’s be honest — there’s always a stray Disney character somewhere in the house. At mine, it’s a whole little army! So when my kids begged for a crafty afternoon, out came the pegboards and the tubs of beads, and off we went on a grand tour of the magic kingdom. I’ve gathered more than ten designs of your favourite heroes here, all in fuse beads — from the timeless classics to the softest newcomers. Grab a seat, sort your colours, and let’s get beading!

Mickey, Minnie and the whole castle crew

We start with the must-haves. The Mickey head is the perfect first project: three circles (one big, two ears), a handful of black beads, and you’re done. It’s usually the very first thing I hand to the little ones, because it works every single time.

Once Mickey’s sorted, he needs some company. I love the little round patterns of the gang: Mickey and Minnie hand in hand, then Donald and Daisy, and finally loyal Pluto with that lovable goofball, Goofy. Each one fits on a round pegboard — ideal for matching coasters or fridge magnets.

And if you fancy a proper little picture to hang up, frame Mickey once he’s ironed. A bright background, a simple frame, and there you go: the bedroom has a brand-new masterpiece.

Lilo & Stitch: the little crew from outer space

Nobody can resist that Stitch face! This little blue alien is a huge hit with my kids, and his round shape lends itself beautifully to beads. You can make him full-length or just do his cheeky head for a speedy keyring.

But Stitch never shows up alone. Add Angel, his sweet pink other half, Scrump — Lilo’s slightly wonky handmade doll — and of course Lilo herself in her flowery dress. You’ll have a whole family to line up on the shelf!

Two grids to follow bead by bead

For those who love following a real chart square by square, here are two ready-to-use grids. Each square on the grid stands for one bead: all you have to do is copy the colours one by one onto your pegboard. Let’s start with Buzz Lightyear — to infinity and beyond!

And because a little softness never hurts, here’s the face of Tigger, Winnie’s bouncy friend. His head works just as well on a magnet as on a little brooch.
