Back-to-school season always kicks off the same way in our house: the kids want to personalise absolutely everything before the big day. Instead of chasing store-bought gadgets, we grab the bead box and gather around the table ! Today I’ve rounded up more than ten school-themed fuse bead designs — little colourful accessories that are quick to make and make heading back to class feel a whole lot more fun. Grab your pegboard and let’s dive in.
Fruity keychains to clip onto the backpack
Let’s ease in with something bright: a fruity keychain ! I’m crazy about this watermelon, strawberry and pineapple trio. The bold reds, greens and yellows really pop against a school bag, and they stretch summer out through those first weeks of class. Once your design is ironed, just add a small jump ring and a keychain clasp, and it’s ready to hang from the zipper.

If these sweet treats got your mouth watering, take a peek at our summer fuse bead selection for loads more sunny ideas to turn into charms.
A keychain that hits the bullseye
Now for a change of pace that sporty kids will love: an archery target ! Those concentric rings of white, black, blue, red and yellow come together on a round pegboard for a seriously eye-catching result. It’s perfect for a young archer, or simply a fresh twist on the usual charms.

Bookmarks to devour those new books
Back-to-school also means brand-new books ! To never lose your page again, I adore these fuse bead toppers glued onto wooden craft sticks: a crowned pineapple, an elegant pink flamingo and a juicy watermelon slice. Three simple little designs that always steal the show — and a great excuse to dip into the bead stash.

School supplies, the fuse-bead way
Why not bead the whole pencil case ? A teacher’s apple, sharpened pencils, a ruler, a set square, a calculator and a little notebook: these school classics translate beautifully into beaded pixel art. I really love this set, especially since the patterns come as free printables — slide the sheet under a clear pegboard and kids can follow along all by themselves, bead by bead.

Want to keep going with more adorable little subjects? Our too-cute fuse bead animals pair wonderfully with this soft, playful vibe.
Your own mini patterns to follow
To round things off, I’ve whipped up two simple homemade grids for you to copy straight onto your pegboard. The rule couldn’t be easier : one square = one bead. Start with the yellow pencil, great for beginners, then move on to the red apple with its little green leaf. Perfect for a first back-to-school session with the youngest crafters !

Over to you !
There you have it — everything to start the school year on the right foot, hands in the beads and head full of colour. Keychains, bookmarks or a fully customised pencil case: pick the designs you love, tweak the colours to your taste, and above all, have fun ! Tell me in the comments what you’ll be clipping onto the backpack this year. Happy crafting, and have a wonderful back-to-school !
