With the leaves coming down and the blankets back out of the cupboard, I was in the mood for a nice plump chestnut for this October project. Deep brown with lighter highlights to make the shell shine, plus a pale little patch at the bottom — the real “scar” you’d see on an actual chestnut.
Reading the grid works as usual: one square, one bead. Start with the dark brown outline to set the rounded silhouette, fill in the inside, and finish with the small green touch at the top for the calyx.
Thanks to its compact shape and single small point at the top, this chestnut irons beautifully even for younger crafters. It’s perfect as a magnet, or tucked into an autumn garland alongside a leaf or pinecone from our catalogue.
