My workshop is a bit of a mess this week: pumpkins scattered across the table, rainbow beads rolling everywhere. Too many fun ideas to pick just one theme, so here are my eight favourite designs right now, for your next pegboard-and-iron evening.

Chills and Fallen Leaves

October is THE month for orange and black beads. In this first batch, you’ll find a mysterious little black cat perched in front of a full moon (my newest one, and I’m quite proud of it), a round pumpkin, a bat with spread wings, a round-eyed owl, and two season classics: a hedgehog getting ready for winter and a colourful maple leaf. Perfect for a festive garland or a kids’ window decoration.

Autumn Special

Sweetness and Daydreaming

And then, for a change of pace, I wanted something softer. A sand-coloured fan seashell to dream of the beach even on a grey day, and a big rainbow heart that puts you in a good mood the moment you look at it. Two really simple designs, perfect for a first grid with kids or a rainy afternoon project.

How I Work Through These Charts

Each chart gives you the full grid, the exact bead quantities you’ll need, and a difficulty level. My tip: print the chart, set it next to your square pegboard, and work row by row rather than jumping around, it’s much easier to avoid mistakes. If you’re making these with kids, let them pick the colours on the simpler designs (the rainbow heart and the seashell are great starting points) while you handle the more detailed ones like the owl or the black cat.

Back to my workbench now, I’ve still got a few more pumpkins to finish this month! Happy crafting, everyone.
