I love a pattern that works in tiers, and this fir tree is a great example: three levels of green, from darker to lighter, that add instant depth to the design. No need to wait for December, either — a simple fir tree earns its place year-round in any nature-themed corner of the house. Start with the brown trunk, then work your way up tier by tier, keeping the two greens alternating — that’s what turns a plain triangle into an actual tree. The bottom tier, the widest one, needs to sit flat on your square pegboard so the whole thing stands up once it’s finished. A quick pass under the iron between two sheets of parchment paper, and your little fir tree is ready to dress up a shelf or become a sweet fridge magnet.
